My name is Alex and I'm from a small town in Wisconsin. A few states away in Washington State & at the University of Puget Sound is where I decided to pursue a bachelor of science in computer science.
My coursework has mostly consisted of computer science classes including introduction to computer science, data structures, discreet mathematics, computer architecture and assembly language, computer graphics, software engineering, network programming, principles of concurrent programming, database management systems, and operating systems.
Additional noteworthy coursework includes financial accounting, principles of financial management, international finance, and principles of graphic design.
Computer Science Teaching Assistant
I feel very fortunate to work for the Mathematics and Computer Science department at the University of Puget Sound as a Computer Science Teaching Assistant. My job responsibilities include tutoring undergraduate university students of all skill levels, and grading for the data structures class, CS261.
Computer Science Research Assistant
For the summer of 2017, I have taken a role as a Research Assistant for Mathematics and Computer Science Department at Univ. of Puget Sound. My research is an extension of Alexia Ingerson's (Intel) work under Professor David Chiu in the University of Puget Sound Computer Science Department.The project is open source and if you're interested in reviewing or contributing the source is here -> bit-map engine.
ACM Chapter Treasurer
For the University of Puget Sound Association for Computing Machinery chapter, I have served as the chapter treasurer. My responsibilities included producing and adhering to an annual budget. They also included delivering club presentations and chapter meeting organization.
I'm very happy to say that I am the founder and president of the student run organization, The Puget Sound Podcast. The Puget Sound Podcast is an educationally themed podcast especially concerned with interviews, discussions, and debates that's recorded and produced by students at the University of Puget Sound. Logistics Coordinator Internship
During my time working towards my under graduate degree, I took an internship as a logistics coordinator at the Northwest Outward Bound School. In addition to the logistics coordinator work experience, I am also Wilderness First Responder Certified (WFR), CPR, and AED through the Wilderness Medical Society.
Volunteer Instructor and Treasurer
For three years of my time pursuing an undergraduate degree, I've worked as a volunteer instructor and treasurer for the Puget Sound Yoga Club.
Another noteworthy accolade during undergrad was my time studying abroad in the Northeast Himalayas with a group of 6 students and two professors. The program consisted mostly of ethnographic studies.

mononoke.io has been an experimental personal blog-style site. The site includes personal projects and podcasts. On the site I leverage a number of technologies including Paper.js, Materialize, OpenGL, etc.
socialrec.org is a registration template which includes registration/sign-in forms for a user model. This style of site may use some database management system in order to manage user profiles.
The scroll control project was created to demonstrate usage of mouse-over event listeners that react by manipulating the current scroll value.
At both The University of Wisconsin and at Western Washington University I have studied graphic design. I have experience in GNU Image Manipulation Program (GIMP), Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Three.JS, Blender, and Paper.js. Below you'll find a number of pieces that I created using Three.js, Illustrator, and/or Photoshop for a graphic design course that I took at Western Washington University. In this same course, I also studied some fundamentals of layering and printmaking.
The throwing wheel teaches patience at least. I'm very proud to consider myself to be an amateur ceramic artist. I especially enjoy throwing porcelain on the wheel. I have been a member of the Puget Sound Ceramics Club for the last two academic years.
